Don’t cry over spilt milk
example for saying in life is:
Don’t cry over spilt milk
Don’t cry over what has happened as it can not be fixed.
I think the meaning of this idiom is very easy to understand:
If you can't solve the problem, don't cry.
The idiom doesn't need a story, if you drop and break the glass, don't make yourself sad, just clean the floor.
◇
In Turkey we usually say "olan oldu" for this subject.
meaningfully translation is: "that happened and there is nothing to fix it..."
yeah, it's a little bit more complicated but... I know you'll understand that.
